What you’ll find out there?
Out There Watercolors isn’t about getting it perfect—it’s about showing up, looking closely, and staying present with what’s in front of you. These sessions invite you to slow down, step outside, and reconnect—with nature, creativity, and the quiet clarity that comes from paying attention.
Whether you’re picking up watercolor for the first time or looking to deepen your skills, you’ll find space here to grow at your own pace. We sketch and paint in living places—gardens, sidewalks, corners full of light and rhythm. Along the way, you’ll learn approachable techniques, build creative confidence, and strengthen your ability to see and respond through your work.
You don’t need to be an expert. You just need to begin.
About Marco Flavio
I trained in Rome in classical painting, discovering that vision must lead before thought—that painting begins in presence, in front of what you see. Context, light, proportion, and perception became my guides. What matters most to me is being there: responding to the shifting reality of the subject, rather than working from photographs. That way of seeing the world has carried me through residencies in Japan and Canada, and into collaborations with museums, cultural institutions, designers, and private clients across the Bay Area.
I bring more than 20 years of experience to what I do—but what matters most to me is staying present. Noticing what’s growing, changing, blooming. Out There Watercolors is where all of that comes together: tradition, intuition, and the ongoing practice of making art that feels alive.
